Do you massage your face? If you don’t, then it’s about time you do! Face massages are exactly what they sound like; massages for your face. Our face has muscles too and we use those muscles daily to express ourselves and while we talk or yawn.
These muscles, much like the rest of the muscles on your body, appreciate a good massage to keep the blood circulation at a good pace and relieve any tension built up during the day or week. The idea is to stimulate the pressure points on your face to keep it relaxed and rejuvenated.
You can get a face massage from a practitioner or you can do it for yourself at home as part of your skincare routine. Read through to see the products we recommend using during your face massages for an even spread across your face.
Apart from the sheer relaxation that face massages provide, they can also have an array of other benefits. Here are some of the benefits you can reap from massaging your face regularly:
- Removes your fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces your Acne
- Blesses you with glowing skin
- Manages your scar tissue
- Improves skin blood flow
While there are many techniques and different styles of face massages, we suggest you start with a simple one at home. This simple face massage can be easily incorporated into your day, especially during your skincare routine.
Firstly, since you will be using your hands, make sure they are clean and you would want to tie back your hair. We also recommend using these helpers instead of your hand for an even spread across your face:
Focus on the skin on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck. The skin around your eye is too gentle and doesn’t require this type of massage. You can use a moisturizer or a cleanser during your massage for a smoother feel, check out the Dafna and Yage collection.
Step 1: From your brows move your fingers in an upwards motion and repeat a few times to cover your forehead.
Step 2: Slide your fingertips from the center of your face towards your ears in an up and out motion, repeat a few times.
Step 3: Following the second step, slide a few levels down towards your mouth and chin and repeat the movement.
Step 4: Finish with your neck and slide up from the collarbone towards your chin a few times.
Continue your skincare routine and rest assured that your pores and skin will be taking the products in fully. Repeat this massage daily with your skincare routine and you’ll start to notice and feel a difference in your skin’s overall health within days.
